The body and neck of the vase are densely carved with various foral sprays     明初十五世紀 剔紅四季花卉紋紙槌瓶
including peony, chrysanthemum and camellia, below a key-fret border           針刻「大明永樂年製」楷書款
encircling the mouth rim. The dark brown base is incised with a six-character
