A LARGE SANCAI-GLAZED POTTERY FIGURE OF A BACTRIAN
CAMEL
TANG DYNASTY (AD 618-907)
The realistically modeled beast is shown standing foursquare on a
rectangular base, with head tilted back as it brays, and covered in
amber and cream glaze. The two tall humps rise from the opening in
the saddle cloth, which is splash-glazed in green, amber and cream.
