                                   AN EXCEPTIONAL JIANYAO ‘HARE’S FUR’ TEA BOWL AND A TIXI LACQUER STAND
                                   BOWL, SOUTHERN SONG DYNASTY (1127-1279); LACQUER STAND, SOUTHERN SONG-YUAN DYNASTY,
                                   12TH-13TH CENTURY

                            The bowl is mounted with a silver rim, covered with a thick black glaze fnely streaked with
                            iridescent ‘hare’s fur’ markings, stopping irregularly above the foot exposing the chocolate-
                            brown body. The tixi lacquer stand is constructed with a hexafoil fange, and is carved on the
                            exterior with sword-pommel scrolls.
