The present group illustrates a popular auspicious subject
through dynamic design and intricate carving. Compare
a yellow jade vase flanked by a pair of immortals sold in
our New York rooms, 26th November 1991, lot 9. See also
related covered vases decorated with Hehe Erxian: a flatted
vase sold in our New York rooms, 11th/12th April 1990, lot
