A LARGE CHAMPLEVE INCENSE BURNER
QING DYNASTY, 19TH CENTURY
the lobed body supported on three tapering cylindrical legs
issuing from lion masks, rising to a short neck and galleried
rim of corresponding section, flanked by a pair of dragon
handles, the body ornately decorated with shou character
roundels framed by flying bats and meandering floral scrolls,
below a lappet band and further floral sprays, incised with a
key-fret border around the rim

panels enclosing lotus blooms against a leiwen ground, the
top similarly carved with leafy scrolls surrounding a bat and
a lotus, and further embellished with a celadon jade chime
carved with bats among clouds
