implements, with another demon hiding
under her table (restorations, toning, stains,
creases).

b) Unknown Artist, Monks, depicting a
seated monk writing on a bodhi leaf with a
brush, attended by another monk clutching a
staff and an ape-like acolyte holding a broom

Buddha, ink and color on paper, hanging
scroll, inscribed with a poem, dated jiazi xia
ri (1924, summer), dedicated to Huang Mu
Jiang Taifuren and signed Zhang Tao with
two artist’s seals, one reading Zhang Tao,
and one collector’s seal.

b) Shen Shoukai (19th/20th century) Eighteen
Luohans, ink and color on silk, hanging
scroll, inscribed, dedicated to Yunqiao yin bo
da ren, signed Shen Shoukai with two artist’s
seals, one reading changsheng qubing, and
two collectors’ seals.
