The screen is decorated with a lively pavilion scene depicting fgures dancing, EXHIBITED
talking, acting and in casual conversation, within a narrow, trellis-pattern
border with lotus cartouches and shou characters. The wide, outer border London, Royal Academy of Arts, International Exhibition of Chinese Art, 1935-6,
has fower vases above and mythical beasts below and at the ends, and the no. 1835.
reverse is decorated with birds perched in fowering trees and bushes amidst
rockwork. LITERATURE
