A LONGQUAN CELADON CARVED BOWL
MING DYNASTY, 15TH CENTURY
The interior is carved with four lobed panels in the center containing the four-
character mark Jinyu mantang (‘May your home be flled with jade and gold’),
surrounded by leafy peony scroll in the well, and the exterior is carved with
foral scroll below a band of key fret at the rim. The bowl is covered overall with
a soft sea-green glaze, except for an unglazed ring on the base.
