A BRONZE RITUAL TRIPOD WINE VESSEL, JUE

LATE SHANG DYNASTY, 12TH-11TH CENTURY BC
The U-shaped body is supported on three blade-form legs and is cast with a broad band of two taotie
masks on a leiwen ground, one mask is centered on a vertical fange and the other on a graph below the
curved handle. The rim rises to a point opposite the spout which is fanked by two conical-capped posts.
