明 銅仿古紋瓿
well cast with the tapering sides rising from a flat foot to a round shoulder surmounted by a waisted neck and flaring rim, the body
decorated with a dense modified-leiwen ground, each unit of the diaper centered with a boss inlaid with turquoise glass, traces of
inlaid triangular lappet bands at the shoulder and foot, the interior with a pictogram, the patina dark brown with areas of malachite
oxidation

Polish Private Collection, acquired in Poland in 1990s, and thence by descent.

Catalogue Note
The form of this vessel is based on pou ritual vessels of the Eastern Zhou through Han dynasties, an example of which can be
found in the collection of the Asian Art Museum of San Francisco (acc. no. B60B1031). Only a few archaistic vessels of this type
have been recorded, and the present lot appears to be the only example cast with an inscription. Compare a bronze vessel of this
