well potted with deep rounded sides rising to an everted rim, enameled in bright green over a field of underglaze blue, the exterior
with two ferocious dragons with black enamel over the fifth claw, each in pursuit of 'Flaming Pearls' amidst clouds and flame wisps
above tiers of petals, the interior painted with a single dragon in a central medallion, the base inscribed with a six-character mark
in underglaze blue within a double circle

Catalogue Note
A similar bowl from the collection of Sir David Home Rt. was sold in our London rooms, 8th December 1992, lot 315. Bowls of this
type often have later-applied black enamel obscuring the fifth claw of each dragon. A Kangxi mark and period 'dragon' dish painted
in a similar fashion to the present lot, with green enamel over an underglaze blue ground, and with the fifth claw covered with black
enamel, is illustrated in John Ayers, The Baur Collection, Vol. IV, Geneva, 1972, pl. A555.
