The paneled top with everted ends above three
drawers and a pair of plain panels, the whole raised
on splayed legs of rectangular section fanked by
shaped spandrels

A three-drawer huanghuali altar cofer of similar
proportions, but with a more elaborately carved
spandrel, formerly from the Ed and Nancy
Rosenthal Collection, was sold at Christie’s,
New York, 14-15 September 2017, lot 949. For a
