         There is only a very small group of yellow-ground blue and white   㫇᫈㿩஠㬪Ɽ≢῟ㅳ㫙ᄟ㵶卿㫬⣌׆ᵐՀ᪖῟Ꮀ卿ᘢໄӽ㞔㬳჎ཐ卿ӻ
         porcelains from the Yongzheng period, likely to do with the complexity   അἃ⠢ႛཎ৅卿ൈཎ⧉Ǯ⎾⏎Ǯཎ≡✙ǯ׾ຽࡺᑐ㲞ᳰצ೥ᇑ      ჺ
         of the manufacture process, which involves at least firing twice in
                                                           ᝲ    ᚚᐽ㐈Ӭ։㫇᫈᪪Ꮣ⭬≡卻     ݩߎ卼卿ᐽ৅      ⽚厎⡥⡙צ೥
         the kilns. Most surviving examples were made in small sizes such as
                                                           ᇑ      ჺ   ᝲ    ᚚᐽ㐈Ӭ։㫇᫈᪪ཎ⧉卻    ݩߎ卼卿ᐽ৅      ⽚厎
         jars, bowls and small vases. Examples include a smaller Yongzheng-
         marked pear-shaped vase (25.5 cm.) sold at Christie’s Hong Kong, 27   ⇧೥㷿᭄Ⅷ⻦Ӭ։㫇᫈᪪Ɽࢭ⡠⎾卿㖊ᙻ +  "ZFST ⶬǶ$IJOFTF $FSBNJDT
         May 2008, lot 1575; a small Yongzheng-marked jar (9.4 cm.) sold at   JO 5IF #BVS $PMMFDUJPOǷ卿✄Հݺ卿ᚚݤ≖卿     ჺ卿எ     ⽚ǯൈទ
         Christie’s New York, 17 March 2017, lot 1218; and a Yongzheng-marked   ᐽ৅㙓    ݩߎ⎏ഌ௛≡ຽߺ㬳჎ཐ㇦卿Ⅷ⧎㬳჎ǯ
         bowl in the Baur Museum Collection, Geneva, illustrated by J. Ayers in

         210. Large vases decorated in underglaze blue and yellow enamel like   ᫈᪪㬪Ɽ≡卿଍ᆨࣿԖ⡠㱈⯝ទᐽ৅ഌ⯎⏟ऱ卿㩶ऑǮ㑷ࣿ⫒㛑ࠗ⡠㱈
         the current example are extremely rare.

         There are also vases of similar design and form but decorated in   ᝳ㑪⎏ᛓ卿᫉≡⯝ទᐽ৅Ὅ⋕߅⯇⏟ऱ㉑㈷⻤எ卿ֿཨ༿࣐ᄃԢཎӬࢮ卿
         underglaze blue only. The National Palace Museum has a Yongzheng-  गᝳ      ݩߎ㵶ǯ
         marked blue and white vase of the same form and almost identical
         decoration, with slightly different decorative bands around the mouth,   ᫉ᆨ߰⎏≡ຽഅ㇦ᙻԳ㪏㬪Ɽ଍卿ൈែ՗இ⛁ࢷ⁒㱦⻦Ӭ։Գ㪏
         foot and shoulder, illustrated in Blue-and-White Ware of the Ch’ing   ᪪㬪Ɽݪᙹ≡卿⡠㱈ࣿ㙁௛ഌ⯎⏟ऱ卿ⶬ㢙ᙻ      ჺែ՗߅‸
         Dynasty Book 1, Taipei, 1968, p. 76, pl. 6. It is interesting to note that the
         National Palace Museum example has remarkably similar decorations to   Ƕ5IF *MMVTUSBUFE  $BUBMPHVF PG 5PLZP /BUJPOBM .VTFVN  $IJOFTF
         the current vase in underglaze blue, but is almost half its size (28.7 cm.).  $FSBNJDT **Ƿ卿எ     ⽚厎औӬ։⻦࢈՗㲛㛢ࢷ⁒㱦卿ⶬ㢙ᙻǶ໶⚩ल

         The current form and design are also better known on Qianlong-period
         blue and white porcelains, such as a Qianlong-marked hexagonal form
         vase with a very similar floral scroll design, included in the Illustrated
         Catalogue of Tokyo National Museum. Chinese Ceramics II, Tokyo, 1990,
         cat.no. 565; and another in the Capital Museum, Beijing, illustrated
         in Gems of the Official Kilns, Taipei, 1993, pl. 84.
