European tastes consulted. Evidences of this ten-
dency will be furnished later on.
The year-marks upon this so-called " Nankin "
blue-and-white do not differ from those on finer
varieties of porcelain, except that the Seal Char-
acter was seldom if ever used by the makers of
the former.
