A WHITE JADE ‘DRAGON’ SCABBARD CHAPE
HAN DYNASTY (206 BC-220 AD)
The flat trapezoidal chape is carved to depict a dragon clambering on the top while
peering over the edge, with its sinuous body and long scrolling tail, falling on both sides of
the surface. The base is drilled with a hole for attachment.
