A JADE ‘DRAGON AND PHOENIX’ DISC, BI
WARRING STATES PERIOD (475-221 BC)
The disc is carved in openwork with a dragon in the centre and
two phoenix flanked on the outer edges. The surface is finely
carved in relief with comma spirals within inner and outer raised
borders. The semi-translucent stone is of yellowish-white colour
with areas of beige calcification.
