A CARVED HARDWOOD SUSPENDED LANTERN
QING DYNASTY
The framing members formed from densely grained dark wood
and intricately reticulated in phoenix motifs, the elaborate edifice
ingeniously held together by a central hexagonal glass chamber and
gravity to support three metal prickets (crack to glass, separation to
joinery).

A PIECED WOOD AND GLASS HANGING LANTERN
Of hexagonal silhouette with dragon head finials carved to the tops
of the upper six horizontal framing members and various reticulated
flanges and decorative aprons applied to other sections of the
wood frame, the glass panels painted on the reverse with figures
and auspicious fruits; metal suspension hook (two glass panels with
damage).

A LARGE HONGMU LUOHAN BED
LATE QING/REPUBLIC PERIOD
Constructed as a rectangular platform supporting removable lattice
panels with squared C-scrolls on the short sides and three lattice
panels that form the back - a shou medallion appearing in the center
panel and shuangxi characters in the flanking panels, the shou
medallion repeating in the elaborate carving on the storage drawer
at the center front of the bed platform flanked by two floating panels
hinged onto the bed platform, each becoming a seat supported on a
separately constructed wheeled frame (losses, old repairs).

whorled in dark dense grain.

The back splat undercut as a shuangxi medallion, birds and deer
enclosed within a scalloped frame bordered by grape vines and the
supports beneath the arms worked as a stylized shou character
(shrinkage, loose joints).

AN ASSEMBLED GROUP OF HARDWOOD TABLES AND
STOOLS WITH MARBLE INSET TOPS
LATE QING DYNASTY
Each with a mottled rose marble top set into the circular frame carved
with a pearl border: the largest a table with reticulated aprons of
gourd vine and curling leaf type and dragons climbing the central
column attached to three curving legs; the second a stool with birds
on flowering branches forming the reticulated aprons and stretchers
joining the elaborately worked legs; the third a smaller stool with gourd
vines reticulated to the aprons; together with a tall wood-topped plant
stand with four attenuated legs and prunus blossoms reticulated to
the aprons (age cracks, shrinkage, glue repairs). [4]
