                                                            A slightly flaring drum emerges from two bands of plump lotus
                                                            petals. It is topped by a harmika, thirteen tapering umbrellas, and a
                                                            surmounting lotus-bud rising from a lotus-parasol. This stupa-form is
                                                            associated with the Kadampa order, which was introduced to Tibet
                                                            by its founder Atisha (982-1054). Compare with a larger example
                                                            published in Pal, Art of the Himalayas, New York, 1991, p.113, no.55.
