A RARE CLOISONNÉ MAGPIE ON A MALACHITE BOULDER
Qianlong
Elaborately cast as a magpie realistically enamelled in black with
white patches on the wings and tail within gilt cloisons to suggest
the various feathers, the bird leaning downwards with beak open
and head slightly cocked to its left, the tail raised high behind, and
the two claws clutching onto a deeply hollowed malachite rock,
associated rosewood stand.
