A SMALL RU-TYPE FOLIATE DISH
YONGZHENG PERIOD (1723-1735)
The shallow dish is of faring form with six lobes and is
supported by a short tapering foot. The crackled glaze is of a rich
greyish-blue tone.

A BLUE AND WHITE ‘SHAN GAO SHUI CHANG’ BOWL
DAOGUANG BING WU MARK IN UNDERGLAZE BLUE
WITHIN A DOUBLE CIRCLE, CORRESPONDING TO 1846,
AND OF THE PERIOD
The bowl is decorated to the exterior with four panels each
containing a character between the Eight Buddhist Emblems,
bajixiang and lotus blooms. The interior has a stylised shou
character below ruyi around the rim. The characters can be
translated as ‘tall mountains and long rivers’.
