四 43.  Imperial blue and white ewer and cover with pear-shaped body
    十      painted in the Ming style with two octofoil panels enclosing
    三      fruiting peach and fruiting loquat berries respectively, on a
           ground of chrysanthemum, camellia, pomegranate and peony
    御      branches, beneath a wide band of lotus flowerheads on a
    製      continuous scrolling foliate branch, beneath a further band
    青      of stiff leaves at the neck, the lower section with a band of
    花      lappets above stylised scrolls on the foot, the strap handle with
    花      four lingzhi branches above three raised bosses, the spout with
    卉      scrolls and leaves above lingzhi and ruyi-heads with blue-ground
    開      strut adjoining the body, the cover with three chrysanthemum
    光      flowerheads on a continuous scrolling leafy branch, beneath
    瑞      moulded lappets and ring finial.
    果      29.5cm total height.
    紋      The base with six-character sealmark of Qianlong in underglaze
    帶      blue and of the period, 1736-1795.
