Cast as a baluster vase with paired, gilded, elephant-head
handles, the body decorated with polychrome scrolling
formal lotus on a turquoise ground, with large upright
lappets at the foot and neck.

Qianlong
Formed as a spittoon or zhadou, the globular body
enamelled with lotus and amongst a foliate meander, the
flaring mouth with plantain leaves between smaller lotus
flower heads, the interior mouth rim similarly decorated, all
raised on a short foot rim with floral motifs.
