A PAINTING OF A PAIR OF MANDARIN DUCKS
Late Qing Dynasty/Republic period
Ink and colour on silk, depicting a pair of mandarin
ducks swimming beneath a tall cluster of elegantly
bending lotus blooms and paddies rising from a
lightly rippling pond, the birds with heads turned to
one another and feathering detailed in the grading
tones of white, beige and green, mounted, framed
and glazed.
