十七/十八世紀 黃花梨腳踏 Foot stools were made either in solid floating panels, with cylindrical
rollers for massaging the foot, or with openwork lattice design as the
present lot. Compare a related huanghuali foot stool, 17th century,
illustrated by Grace Wu Bruce, Living With Ming - The Lu Ming Shi
Collection, 2000, pp.174-175, no.50, where the author notes that
there are few surviving examples in huanghuali.
