           The first a small forecrest designed as a long-horned oni (demon),   Meiji era (1868-1912), late 19th/early 20th century
           carved in wood and decorated in textured gold, black, and red lacquer,  The saya (scabbard) finished in gold hiramaki-e and takamaki-e
           the ears lacquered red, the eyes and whiskers of gold lacquer,    with embellishments of kirikane depicting pine and cherry trees,
           11.5cm x 13.2cm (4½in x 5 1/8in); the second of brass and cast in the  hills, and a river; the tsuka covered in same (rayskin) with brown silk
           form of a variation of the daki-myoga-mon (confronted ginger-shoot   tsukamaki wrapping in lozenge pattern, the principal metal fittings
           crest), 7.1cm x 8.3cm (2¾in x 3¼in); the third of gold-lacquered wood   comprising kabutogane (pommel), menuki (hilt fittings), fuchi kanamono
           in the form of a pair of stag antlers, 13.6cm x 11.2cm    (collar), tsuba (hand guard) of aoigata form, a single harubigane with
           (5 3/8in x 4 3/8in). (3).                         ashikanamono (sling fitting), semegane (scabbard ring), and sayajiri
