17TH CENTURY
of square form, surmounted by a recumbent lion with its head
turned to its right and resting on its front paws, the restful
beast depicted with a pronounced snout picked out with ruyi
nostrils, its muscular body centred with a subtle crenulated
spinal column terminating in a bushy tail detailed with a
scrolling motif, the seal face carved with a four-character
inscription, the stone of an attractive warm variegated
brownish-orange colour
