Meiji era, 19th century
Constructed in parts as a two-tier dwelling with figures within and
leading to a stepped terrace, with further figures beside the rocky
water edge and flanked by lantern and gnarled pine tree, all attached
to a shaped wood base.

and stained ivory with a variety of insects, one side with a gold-lacquer
stem of bamboo.
