           A LAPIS LAZULI ARCHAISTIC
           INCENSE BURNER AND COVER
           QING DYNASTY, 19TH CENTURY

           the body encircled by archaistic cicada lappets,
           between key-fret bands around the rim and foot,
           flanked by a pair of dragon handles, the domed
           cover similarly decorated and surmounted by a
           finial in the form of furled petals, wood stand
           16 cm, 6¼ in.

           A closely related lapis lazuli incense burner of
           the same size, similarly carved in the form of an
           archaistic gui vessel and cover, was sold in these
