A LARGE LONGQUAN CELADON ‘DRAGON’ Another Yuan dynasty Longquan celadon dish from the
DISH collection of Dr Carl Kempe, illustrated in Bo Gyllensvärd,
YUAN DYNASTY Chinese Ceramics in the Carl Kempe Collection, Stockholm,
1964, pl. 144, was sold in our London rooms, 14th May 2008,
with rounded sides rising to a flat everted rim, the interior
lot 329, and again more recently in these rooms, 7th April
applied with a coiling dragon in pursuit of a flaming pearl, 2015, lot 3671.
encircled by a foliate scroll, the exterior with upright lotus
lappets, applied overall save for the footring with a sea-green
glaze
