modelled as a hollowed lychee fruit, borne on
intertwining leafy sprigs issuing further smaller
attendant fruits on the exterior, the base with
a six-character inscription reading Wumen Zhu
Zhiyin zhi (Made by Zhu Zhiyin from Wumen)

deftly carved in high relief with a seated scholar
reading next to his crouching attendant, beside
a flowing river sheltered amongst pitted irregular
rockwork, the jagged rock faces lightly incised
with leafy shrubs, the stone of a golden caramel-
brown tone streaked with darker inclusions and
reddish brown skin, wood stand
