of fanggui form, flanked by a pair of stylised dragon handles,
the exterior worked in relief with a band of taotie masks
divided by raised flanges, similarly decorated to the foot
with archaistic scrolls, the neck with confronting kui dragons
divided by animal masks, the stone of a pale celadon tone
suffused with milky-caramel inclusions, wood stand
23.5 cm, 9¼ in.

Collection of T.Y. Chao (1912-1999), and thence by descent in
the family.
