Jodhpur, 1800-1820                                                  flowers. He carries a spear and smokes a huqqa, surrounded by a
Opaque watercolor with gold and silver on paper; inscription upper  proud, chest-puffed entourage – markers of his nobility and power.
red border translated: ‘Portrait of Thakur Jaivan Singh’.           A very similar equestrian portrait of a Jodhpur Thakur was sold at
