BODHISATTVA
Nepal, 14th/15th century

supported by a striding elephant, he is adorned with
jewelry and fine garments and flanked by two large

尼泊爾 十四/十五世紀 銅鎏金錘疊菩薩飾板
The large scale, deep relief, and exceptional detail
suggest this panel originated from an important shrine
to a Buddha or bodhisattva. For closely related panel,
possibly from the same shrine or monastery, see
Christie’s, London, 18 July 1974, lot 107.
