Tay Bak Koi is one of Singapore’s most renowned second generation artists. thence by descent.
He studied at the Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts in the late 1950s under
the guidance of pioneer artist Cheong Soo Pieng (1917-1983), training in Yong Munsen is known as the father of modern Malaysian painting, and one of
the traditions of both Western and Eastern painting. Tay is best known for the founders of the Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts in Singapore and then Malaya.
