TWO CARVED RED LACQUER
SNUFF BOTTLES
1800-1900
The first, 1800-1900, is carved with a moon
window on one side revealing a woman
holding a mirror, the reverse showing her
resting in a garden. The second, 1820-1900,
is carved with a scene of sages seated at a
table, with a wandering sage on the reverse,
with a metal rim and base.

A CARVED BLUE GLASS SNUFF
BOTTLE
IMPERIAL GLASSWORKS, BEIJING,
1750-1850
The bottle is of opaque whorling blue tones,
centered on each side with a circular convex
panel surrounded by narrow facets and a
row of larger facets on the narrow sides.
2 in. (5 cm.) high, hardstone stopper
