the pottery roof tile end moulded with the curving toprail sloping down to
an auspicious four-character inscription the arms supported on serpentine
read as changle weiyang (eternal felicity side posts and terminating in a curved
[happiness] without end), recarved hook beyond the corner posts set with
as an inkstone in the form of a peach, shaped spandrels, the backsplat carved
within a hongmu box and cover in the with a ruyi-shaped panel enclosing
form of peach, the cover carved with a dragons, the back corner posts
leafy branch continuing below the rectangular frame,
(3) with mat seat, to the back legs joined
Height 19.8 cm, 7¾ in. by stretchers and a footrest with plain

a band of upright lappets around the
base, covered overall in an unctuous
celadon glaze save for the rim and foot
ring burnt orange in firing
