naturalistically modelled in the form of a furled lotus leaf borne on a long stem and detailed with incised petals on the potted in the form of a fruit, with a gently lobed globular body resting on a star-shaped foot, representing the fruit's
interior, the stem split into two slender stalks, one curling over the rim towards the centre and the other branching out sepals, one side incised with four characters in running script reading you jiu feng qing ('with wine and breeze'), set
beneath and across the base issuing a lotus bud, covered overall with a smooth and even white glaze opposite the spout with a handle modelled in the form of a gnarled leafy branch, the branch extending across the
cover and forming the knob, covered overall with a transparent white glaze
