This dish was part of a dinner service made for Jacob Pelgrom, a Duff and his wife, which is suggested to be the name the Chinese
VOC merchant who rose to become Director-General of Bengal gave Diederick Duiver (1676-1740), Governor of the Dutch East India
(India). Company from 1729-1731.
