A FAMILLE VERTE ‘DRAGON BOAT FESTIVAL’ SLEEVE VASE
Kangxi
Brightly and boldly enamelled in the famille verte palette with a
continuous scene of the Emperor travelling on a dragon boat in a
river luxuriant with fish and lotus, the Emperor surrounded by his
court ladies, the boat apparently dragged by a group of mirthful
ladies on a shore, the opposite shore with a delegation of officials
greeting the party on a bridge, a further party observing the scene
from a terrace, all under a decorative band at the rim.
