A TIBETAN CEREMONIAL PARCEL-GILT BREAST PLATE
19th century
Decorated in repousse with scrolling foliage encircling a central
inscription, with turquoise and coral inset borders, attached
silk embroidered tapering panel, woven with dragons amongst
polychrome cloud scrolls, within decorative borders and with fringing
to the lower edge.

The handle cast with the head of Vairocana supporting a half vajra-
shaped terminal and applied with gilt, all above a copper section
with a dragon among clouds, the shoulder of the bell cast with lança
characters within lappets, the body with rows of visvajra among
pearls and flaming wheels. 29cm (11 1/2in) high
