A FINE PALE GREEN JADE ‘IMMORTALS’ VASE AND COVER The present lot demonstrates the outstanding craftsmanship and
18th century creativity achieved in the jade ateliers during the 18th century. This
Masterfully carved and well hollowed as an ovoid vase and cover is evident in the superb composition, openwork carving, individual
emerging from a tapering base carved in the form of a rocky outcrop detailing of each figure and the realistic rendering of the clouds and
above carefully incised waves, the side walls encircled by four rocky outcrop.
Immortals vividly depicted with a jovial expression, including Hehe
Erxian with one holding a wicker box and the other with a double The depiction of four Immortals, including Shide and Hanshan known
gourd, all below Liu Hai with a three-legged toad and a fourth Immortal as the Hehe Erxian, together with Liu Hai and Li Tieguai can also be
carrying a fly whisk amidst clouds, the softly polished stone of even found in a Ming dynasty painting by Shang Xi (active 15th century),
pale green tone, wood stand. in the National Palace Museum, Taipei, illustrated in Tracing the Che

編10·清》，北京，2010年，圖30及44。香港邦瀚斯曾售出一件清乾隆
白玉雕仙人乘槎船形寶瓶，亦雕刻相同的四仙，2018年5月29日，拍
品編號36。
