A BAMBOO ROOT CARVING OF
A SEATED LUOHAN
KANGXI PERIOD (1662-1722)
The monk is robustly carved seated on a
pierced rock, his head tilted to the right, his
left hand holding a sutra. He is wearing a
robe, with two finger citrus fruits hanging
from his waist. He is accompanied by a
small tiger.
