A ‘LANGYAO’ RED-GLAZED VASE, GUANYINZUN
Kangxi
Elegantly potted with rounded shoulders rising from an elongated
tapering base and spreading foot to a short cylindrical neck and
slightly flared mouth, covered with a lustrous crackle-suffused red
240 glaze thinning at the neck to a cream tone, the recessed base and
interior both applied with a translucent pale blue glaze.

A RARE FLAMBÉ-GLAZED VASE, HU
Qianlong seal mark and of the period
Of archaic form, the pear-shaped body rising from a slightly spreading
foot to a waisted neck encircled with a raised band and set with a pair
of animal-mask handles suspending fixed rings, covered overall with a
glaze of brilliant streaked purple-blue and crimson colour thinning to a
lilac-blue and cream tone with a slight crackle around the lug handles
and rim, the base in a coffee wash. 20.5cm (8 1/8in) high.
