A FINE AND WELL-CARVED SUZHOU AGATE BOTTLE
School of Zhiting, 1750-1850
Of small elongated spade shape, one narrow side carved in deep relief
through a dark inclusion with a scholar seated on the edge of a large
rock and prunus branches carved from a misty white inclusion below, a
boy attendant holding a wine vessel approaches near a cave entrance
or rocky hillock with a coral branch in light relief before it, the scene
continues to the other side with two piebald horses, one recumbent
beneath a prunus tree and further serrated rockwork, supported on a
flat oval foot with some rockwork details to one edge, all below a short
cylindrical neck with concave mouth and small opening

depicts Liuhai to one side and a warrior and horse to the other set
