Provenance: possesses a stunning gem-like quality in its brilliant finish, and that in
Fahardi, New York, 1980 spite of its small size has a weighty feel that may have been intended
Gerd Lester Collection, New York, 1986 to imitate rock crystal. Another possibility put forward is that the bottle
Sotheby's Hong Kong, The Mary and George Bloch Collection, Part X, was intended as a blank for enameling by the Palace workshops of
31 May 2015, lot 130 the late Qianlong period. Indeed, there are several recorded enameled
glass bottles of the Guyue Xuan group with clear bodies.
