23. Chinese Imperial porcelain famille verte deep saucer dish with gently flared rim, painted with two branches of fruiting persimmon
and pomegranate amongst leaves, all on a white ground carved with three anhua five-clawed dragons in pursuit of flaming pearls
amongst stylized clouds and flames, the underside with two branches of flowering peony and camellia on a similar white carved
花 果 盤 紋 龍 彩 三 素 雲 刻 暗 ground with two further dragons above a band of lappets.
9 ¾ inches, 24.8 cm diameter.
Six-character mark of Kangxi within a double ring in underglaze blue and of the period, circa 1700.

• A similar dish decorated only with peaches, also from the Colonel Poyser Collection was included by Marchant in their
Recent Acquisitions catalogue, 2001, no. 11, p. 11.
• It is rare to find dishes of this design where the white ground is not stained, the colour has not run from the outlines and the
anhua is clear. These dishes were extremely difficult to fire and were often removed from the kiln with staining, which is not
apparent on this example.
