Resting on a broken section of bamboo, its fleshy body kept in a Carved in relief, with a small spider crawling towards the narrow tip,
compact form under its large shell, the texture of the bamboo partly the eyes inlaid in dark horn; signed with incised characters Iwami no
delineated with ukibori, the wood slightly worn; signed Shokiku saku kuni no junin (a resident of Iwami Province) with a kao.
