in pursuit of ‘Flaming Pearls’ amidst arabesque
clouds, bats, cranes and auspicious symbols,
above a terrestrial diagram rising from swirling
waves and lishui stripe, the collar and sleeve
bands similarly decorated and edged with gold
brocade
