A DOUCAI DECORATED DRAGON AND PHOENIX VASE
Jiaqing mark, 19th century
Of elegant baluster form with a pair of strap handles picked out in iron
red and gilt on the waisted neck, the dragon and phoenix posed facing
one another amid flowering peony branches al outlined in underglaze
blue and colored in bright enamels, the recessed base bearing the six-
character mark in underglaze blue seal script.
