A CELADON JADE MOUNTED ZITAN RUYI SCEPTER
19th century
The scepter head mounted with a jade plaque of conforming shape,
carved with two large longevity peaches and two bats, the elegantly
curved zitan shaft carved to the top with five bats amid dense
scrolling clouds, the underside carved with a wan fret diaper, the tip
of the shaft inlaid with a jade plaque carved with a bat and flaming
pearl, pierced with a bull-nose perforation and threaded with a
knotted tassel.
